Moisture Ingress

Moisture Ingress to Buildings

A common complaint to buildings is moisture ingress.

That is, moisture ingress presenting as damage to floors and walls, efflorescence to the face of brickwork or even building users observing a flow of moisture into areas of the building.

We strongly recommend obtaining an expert opinion from an RPEQ engineer experienced in moisture ingress issues to buildings before attempting to rectify.

In some instances, Clients have already expended significant sums attempting to rectify moisture ingress issues to the building which were not effective.

It can be very distressing for Property Owners who have borne the significant economic cost of attempting repairs with seemingly little or no improvement to the problem.

I have received feedback from Clients at time of inspection ‘We have had different people look at this problem and no-one identified the source of leaking until now, I’m glad we got you in!’

The benefits to Clients in contacting Baxter Consulting Engineers are as follows:

  • Have an independent expert RPEQ engineer inspect the Property and attempt to identify all possible sources of moisture ingress to the affected area of the building;
  • Have an engineering assessment as to the likely source of moisture ingress;
  • Receive recommendations to address the likely sources of moisture ingress.
